The Silky Oak Chocolate Co Ltd is a 100% New Zealand owned family business, founded in January 2000. Silky Oak Chocolates purchased Kramer’s Chocolates (circa 1959), and have since developed a proud reputation for producing exquisite handmade couverture (real) chocolates, using traditional methods.
Silky Oak's handcrafted chocolate range has something for everyone. Whether it's just a tasty chocolate treat or a gift for an event or special occasion. We also have a Dairy Free range of chocolates which are suitable for those who are lactose-intolerant or Vegans.
Today Silky Oak has 3 stores around New Zealand in Hawke's Bay, Lower Hutt and Tauranga.
Here at our base in Hawke's Bay we also have our Chocolate Museum, Cake Decorating Classes, Café and Event Venue.

The entire complex opens at 9am weekdays
and 10am weekends. The Chocolate shop
closes at 5pm Monday to Thursday, 4pm Friday, Saturday, Sunday and most public
holidays.
Café closes at 4pm each day, and is not
open on public holidays
The last entry into the museum is 3:30pm (unless previously
booked). This is to allow sufficient
time to appreciate the museum at your leisure. The museum is open most public holidays.
